D: is for Drive!

Road trip!  Heading to the boyfraan's house in the wilderness. It's a seven hour trek and until we came upon this living arrangement last year, I never realized how much I could enjoy such a long trip alone.  The thoughts in my head just sort of come and go as they please and by the time it's over, I feel like I've gotten a lot accomplished in this brain of mine!  Throw in a good podcast and jam session or two and it makes for an amazing time, really.

Even more exciting is that once I arrive there's five days of dancing, bike riding, and ziplining adventures to look forward to!  Oh yeah, and I get to see my boo, as well.  That part's pretty awesome, too, I suppose. :) Basically, I cannot wait. Packing my things and hitting the road!

  1. Incredible photo! Have fun...I too enjoy my time on a long road trip...and also when swimming because there are no distractions just me and my thoughts...that's when I usually do my lesson planning.

Have a great 5 days! I am mid-spring break today...hoping to get in a bike ride is if the weather complies :)

    1. I wish I did more swimming! The ocean's warming up so I'm excited for it. Unfortunately I cannot seem to swim in a straight line. I think one leg is shorter than the other...just call me Nemo, going in circles. :)

  2. Wow Mabel, impressive headstand in the profile pic, and a lovely life on the road photo. So lovely to have time to find one's own space and clear the head of clutter. Safe journeys and have a great break

  3. Wow that is a long long drive, I don't know if I could do it. It would be very difficult, I give you a lot of credit for doing it, and wish you the best. Although I have to say I do love to drive, especially when you aren't in any real hurry to get anywhere in particular, you tend to take in the scenery more. And wow that is a gorgeous photo, did you take that, because I have to say you have a good eye. Thanks for sharing, and drive safely :)

    1. Sadly I cannot take credit for the photo. Apparently it's illegal to photograph while driving (who knew?). It is a stock gem that I found. I did get excited to get a similar visual driving into the mountains at sunset just after the rain cleared.

  10. Gorgeous photo! I also enjoy driving {I used to live in Florida, and I drove 12 hours from FL to NC quite a few times}! It really does give you time to think and also enjoy the view.

  18. I hope you have a wonderful trip. I don't mind car trips alone either (so long as I am looking forward to my destination). The solitude is good for working things out in my head. I am a new follower from the challenge.
